The Importance of Bible Studies
Beloved brethren, Bible study is the foundation of our Christian faith. The Word of God is not just a book to be read, but a living message meant to be studied, understood, and lived. The Scriptures declare in 2 Timothy 3:16–17 that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God… that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Through Bible study, we come to know God personally. It strengthens our faith, deepens our relationship with Christ, and guides us in truth. In a world filled with many voices and false teachings, Bible study anchors us firmly in God’s Word and protects us from deception.
Bible study also brings spiritual growth and transformation. As we search the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit reveals God’s will, corrects our errors, and shapes our character to reflect Christ. Jesus Himself said, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17).
For the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bible study is essential to understanding our message, mission, and hope. It prepares us to share the everlasting gospel, explain our beliefs with confidence, and lead others to salvation. Every believer is called to be a student of the Word and a witness of the truth.
Let us therefore make Bible study a daily habit, both personally and as a church. When God’s Word is studied faithfully, lives are changed, families are strengthened, and the church is empowered for mission.
